Trading Floor Blog

What a blog is...

Simply put, a blog (short for weblog) is an area of the web where people post their thoughts. Many times they take the form of an online diary or a collection of current thoughts. New information is added to the top of the page so that you immediately see the latest information that has been added.

What this blog is...

This blog is devoted to the stock market and is designed to give you an up-to-the-minute, real-time look into the mind of someone who is following the market from a unique vantage point. Think of it as a look into the mind of a trader. The goal is to disseminate as much useful information as quickly as possible with concise posts.

How this is different from other blogs...

Schaeffer's Research has a team of analysts and a collection of tools and data that rivals some of the best around. We have proprietary data and indicators as well as a trading floor dedicated to using them. This creates a resource-rich environment that the average trader just doesn't have access to. As someone on the floor, I have access to these tools and discussions, and my intent is to share them with you the best that I can.

What types of information you should expect to see...

Information will vary from day-to-day, but expect to see discussions on sentiment and technical analysis. Expect to see real-time reactions to events and quick notes about what we are discussing on our trading floor. Also look for value-added comments to what is posted on free SchaeffersResearch.com and the occasional "heads-up" on what is going to be posted.

What types of information you should NOT expect to see...

Do not expect to see direct trade recommendations or individual advice. Stocks will be talked about, but full-time position management and personalized advice goes beyond the scope of this area.

How you can use this information...

This information can be used as a resource both by those following the market real-time as well as those who follow from distance. Those looking for real-time comments will find that the blog is updated throughout the day to provide you with fresh insight. Those who don't follow the market all day but still want to stay abreast will find our archive useful. Each day's post is archived so that you can access them at your convenience. You can even change the sorting order so that it reads from the first post of the day down.

Why feedback is encouraged...

The open nature of this forum lends itself perfectly to adapting to the current environment. As such, you can have a say in how each day flows. Every post has a link that allows you to immediately send comments, questions, and concerns. While it is unlikely that I will be able to respond to every request, I promise to read every email and post as much as I can. I am always open to improvement, so feel free to offer suggestions on how I can make this resource more useful to you.
